I'd like to introduce you to my good friend

I met Mark a few years ago while attending a jam at a local venue, his phenomenal guitar work instantly caught my attention!
This young father of four has shown the community just what a power house on the guitar he really is!

Mark Merrin

Originating from Toronto,Ontario, Mark settled in Nova Scotia with his beautiful wife Amanda & children.

Mark has been playing since 1995 and is completely self taught! It still amazes me every time I get to witness the extent of his talent on stage with his guitar, Mark definitely puts on a fantastic show for his audience!

Mark's first string of gigs began in 2001 in the Greater Toronto area where he performed several solo shows for a very appreciative crowd!

Mark was influenced heavily by Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Slash, Eric Clapton, and Dimebag Darrell
He played with the band "Unintentional" for a year, opening Harvest Fest 2007 in Digby, Nova Scotia.
Later Mark moved to the city and started up with "Search Party"and played with the band thru the HRM for about a year.

Next Mark started up a new band called "Natural Talent" along with Al Fraser and four other band members, Frankie,Stan, Jerome & Donnie. The band gigged steady through most of 2010 filling the crowd's hunger for R&B,Soul and Blues music. They played at Wharf Rats Rally (Atlantic Canada's Largest Motorcycle Rally)  in the fall of 2010 in Digby,Nova Scotia to an huge audience!

Ryan Kothow, Drums/Vocals formed the newest power blues/rock band in the HRM.
Recently "SoundHouse" performed at Band Wars 2011 competing against 13 other of HRM's finest bands.
The trio put on an amazing show and should be commended for the remarkable performance they offered the crowd!

  2. Kathy,

Thank you for the remarkable write up on Mark. I am so proud, as his mother to read this and see him through someone elses eyes. You brought tears to my eyes reading this.

I don't get to see him often now that he is down in Nova Scotia. I would love to come and see him play again. It has been too many years since I saw him perform for an audience.

Mark I am so very proud of you!!!!
