Band Wars 2011....Let the Battle Begin!

Band Wars 2011, began right on schedule at 1PM, at The Buffalo Club in Eastern Passage.
The first warriors to the stage were....
460 Kustom

An amazing group of 3 indie rock musicians,Dave Whitenect,Dana Whitenect & Jim Yorke put on a fantastic 35 minute show and what a way to begin the battle! 460 Kustom definitely rocked the house and surely set the mood for the day to come, after their set everyone knew they would definitely have to bring their A Game to this battle!

Next up was
Sunset Strip


A fantastic group of four very talented musicians, Colin MacEachern, Randy Robertson, Jeff Morrison, & Fred Barnes gave the crowd a fabulous set of classic rock & had the crowd wanting more!
Great job guys!

Next warriors to the stage
Midlife Crisis




Wow what a band of seasoned musicians! Eddie Duggan, Danny Hoskin, Floyd Knox, Les Brown, and the 5th warrior known to me only as Midlife Crisis!....these boys known as the party band gave the crowd a fab set of tunes from many genres & rocked their hearts out for the judges and audience! Terrific set guys!!

The next band to grace the stage
10-2 Midnite




This group of four great musicians truly gave the crowd a good time! These seasoned musicians, Rob Brown, Ken Farrell, Pat Farrell, and Norm Carver served up a set of musical styles from classic rock, contemporary, and country and truly were fantastic!

Devil's Elbow




Wow what a group of players!! These young rockers are absolutely fantastic!! Robbie Stewart, Matt Boutilier, Scott Asprey, and Scott MacKinnon rocked their hearts out to a very appreciative crowd!
You were fabulous guys!!

2nd Time Around




Sorry to say I don't know a lot about this band, other than they were terrific & put on a great show for the audience and the judges.Of this 5 piece group I only know the name of Kevin Porter, but they were all fabulous an should be commended for such a fantastic show!

Now to the stage to battle....the fabulous
Ozone





Now this absolutely fabulous group of rockers were amazing! This classic rock power trio of seasoned musicians Tym Deal, Steve McKarney, and Morgan D'Entremont  blew the crowd away! What a fantastic set guys! You truly ROCKED!

As the night rolled on, the battle continued with
Broken Angel




What a terrific band of warriors to the stage now! This group of 6 high energy cover band musicians had the crowd rocking with their current and 80's, 90's tunes! The boys, Tom Dobbin, Fraser Dempsy, Walter Taplin, Paul Ranson, Steve McGrath, and Ken Allain make up this terrific group! Great job guys!!

Brownstone


Another band I have very little info about as this was this first time I have seen this group, but I can tell you they are true rockers through & through!! The audience loved them...great job guys!!


Next up
Cover Up


This group of four seasoned musicians make up terrific band of music warriors! Gary Steffen, Peter Dominey, Steve Zinck, & Vinnie played a terrific set of classic rock tunes that had the crowd lovin it! Great job guys!

Front and center next
Sunset Drive



As the night rolls on Sunset Drives enters the battle, this band of four seasoned musicians led by Tanya Gadsden, Paul Stanhope , Ron Dillman , and Glen Higgins put on a fabulous show! Great job everyone!


Now to the battle...the phenomenal
7 Mile Stare



This group of four fabulous musicians absolutely rocked the house...these 4  phenomenal musicians had the crowd up dancing and rocking the night away! Chris Ricketson, Rick Ruth, Darren Crandell, and Michael Cormier are the true definition of some of HRM's finest rockers! Armed with their 7 Mile Army cheering them on, the guys gave the crowd the most amazing set of original tunes! Fantastic set guys!!


As the battle began to wind down, the next warriors to enter the match was the amazing....
Sound House




What a power blues/rock band is was! Wow!! This fantastic trio Mark Merrin, Pam Patterson, & Ryan Kothow just blew everyone away with the most amazing set!! The guitar work by Mark was absolutely phenomenal! Fantastic set guys!! Wow!!


Last but not least to the battle...the amazing..
Trak




What a way to end the 2011 battle with this fantastic band of true rockers! This 5 piece group of fun loving truly experienced wonderful rockers gave an extremely impressive set of classic rock at it's best! Randy Locke, Scott Tracy, Pat Fitzner, Bruce Fitzner, and Kevin White make up this terrific band. Wonderful set guys! You ROCK!


What a fantastic battle this was indeed, 12 hours non stop ROCK at it's best!!! Kudos to everyone involved in making this such a terrific event! Hats off to all the organizers for putting on such a professional show, everything went on schedule, just like clock work, kudos to everyone involved!

Amazing job guys!! Myles Hatt, Bill Hellewell, and Ian McLaws you guys should be very proud of all you accomplished! Wonderful night!
To Beth McLaws who alone handled all the lighting for the show, you ROCK girl! I don't know how you did it so long! The video techs Rod Somes, & Mike Stevens great job guys!...sorry for getting in your way at times :) The sounds techs..awesome job!
Once again, to all the volunteers who worked so tirelessly kudos to you all, great job everyone!
