Band Wars 2011

Saturday January 29th was the scene of the most wonderful gathering of our local talent this city could ask for, so it is only fitting that this be my first blog as it involved so many wonderful artists for such a great cause!
The scene was The Buffalo Club in Eastern Passage, the battle...14 of HRM's finest bands competing for substantial prize money and the honor of  being the winners of the 2011 Band Wars title.
This was a 12 hour event, the warriors brought their A game, and I was there to witness and photograph every moment.
Hosted for the second year, The Buffalo Club members should be very proud of what they achieved that day!
All proceeds went to The Q104 Children's Trust Fund and a great amount of money was raised for the children!

Before I begin kudos must first be given out to the celebrity judges, the amazing Charlie A'Court, fantastic Ellen Stanhope and the wonderful Bruce Nelson who all donated their time and put in such a long day, 12 hours of  careful and courteous listening to all bands, all for a great cause they all believed in!

Also to all the many hard working volunteers that made this event possible, kudos to all of you! It was definitely a very long grueling non stop day for most, but it just shows how big the hearts are of the folks here in the Maritimes, when it comes to a great cause like our children!
